Mahjong 88

Play'n GO presents Mahjong 88, a video slot that operates on an 8×8 grid instead of the conventional spinning reels. The game features Mahjong-style tiles as symbols, and players earn wins by connecting clusters of four or more identical tiles either horizontally or vertically. Rather than offering free spins, the game allows winning clusters to disappear from the board, making way for new symbols to drop in, which can lead to multiple cascades within a single turn.

A notable aspect of Mahjong 88 is the Fortune Frog meter, which fills up as players clear winning tiles. Upon collecting 33 winning symbols, one of four special modifiers is activated—these modifiers can change a symbol into a scatter, transform existing symbols, select edges to alter tiles between them, or choose a tile that eliminates its neighboring tiles. Collecting 88 winning symbols triggers the Super Charge mode, which applies a 5× multiplier to all wins during that round.

The game also incorporates four seasons—spring, summer, autumn, and winter—each associated with unique wild symbol effects. For instance, in spring, wilds can appear randomly up to twelve times on the grid; summer wilds eliminate adjacent symbols; autumn wilds may show up in large quantities or influence edge symbols; while winter wilds stick around after wins. As players progress, the seasons change after a predetermined number of spins, and a Season Bonus is awarded during transitions, calculated based on a portion of all wins from the previous season.

Additionally, players will encounter Concealed Tiles, which are blank symbols that reveal an adjacent symbol when activated. There is no option to buy bonuses, and the maximum potential win in the game can reach up to 5,000 times the stake. The overall theme embraces Asian aesthetics, featuring a respectful Mahjong style, floral and numbered tile symbols, and seasonal effects that enhance the game's atmosphere.
