Sails of Gold

Sails of Gold, developed by Play'n GO, features a video slot design with five reels and ten fixed paylines, centered around an adventurous theme inspired by the journey of Christopher Columbus. The game's visuals combine maritime elements with symbols of historical exploration, showcasing Columbus as the Wild symbol, while lower-value icons include a compass, telescope, and decorative card symbols. The Wild symbol substitutes for all standard symbols except for Scatters, aiding in the formation of winning combinations during the base game.

The Scatter symbol, depicted as a ship, appears only on reels 1, 3, and 5. Landing three ship Scatters at once in the base game activates ten Free Spins. During the Free Spins feature, the ship Scatter transforms into an additional Wild, enhancing the chances of completing winning paylines. If three more ship Scatters land during Free Spins, the feature retriggers, granting another set of ten Free Spins.

Additionally, after a win in the main game, players have the option to engage in a Gamble feature, where they can attempt to increase their winnings by guessing the color or suit of a concealed card, with the possibility of repeating this up to five times consecutively. The game offers various betting options, allowing players to adjust coin values and coins per line, along with an Auto Play feature for continuous spins. Sails of Gold does not include a bonus buy option, emphasizing the natural triggering of Free Spins through Scatter symbols and the use of Wilds and retriggers to prolong gameplay. The highest win potential is achieved through line wins that involve the Wild symbol, especially during Free Spins when Scatters become Wild.
