In Yggdrasil's Runes of Battle, players are immersed in a battlefield inspired by Norse mythology, showcasing Viking ships and runic symbols that enhance its martial theme. The game features a grid composed of 4 reels and 3 rows, with a set number of paylines that pay from left to right. A key element of the game is the Growing Wild symbol, which expands into neighboring positions when it appears, excluding other Wilds and Scatter symbols, thereby aiding in the creation of additional winning combinations.

When enough Scatter symbols land, players can activate a special Bonus Choice, allowing them to select from three distinct bonus modes: Free Spins with Sticky Wilds, Free Spins with Multipliers, or the Trail Bonus Game. In the Sticky Wilds Free Spins mode, players receive six free spins, during which any expanding Wilds remain fixed for the entire duration.
