Hot Gems: Cash Collect™ from Playtech is a video slot with the Cluster Pays concept, inspired by mining and gem digging. The game features a 7×7 grid, where groups of at least five connected symbols must be formed vertically or horizontally to achieve wins. When groups are formed, the winning symbols explode and fill the empty spaces with symbols falling from the top, allowing for multiple wins in the same round. Next to the grid is the Cash Collect Bar feature, which has 30 fields that fill with the number of symbols from each win. When this bar is completely filled during a sequence of collapses, a Cash Collect™ symbol drops onto the reels.

The Cash Collect™ symbol collects special values from all coin symbols on the screen, including "Cash Coins," "Free Games Coins," and "Diamond Coins." These symbols are collected when a Cash Collect™ symbol is present, and each such symbol collects all the coins on the screen. There are four fixed prizes associated with the "Diamond Coin," awarded when a Cash Collect™ symbol is present, and these are Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand, which are related to multipliers for the bet. The TNT Wild symbol acts as a special symbol that remains in place until all collapses are completed, before it explodes and removes surrounding regular symbols, providing extra collapses and helping to fill the Cash Collect Bar.

The free spins round is activated when Free Games Coin symbols are collected with a Cash Collect™ symbol in the same round, and the number of free rounds awarded is based on the values of these symbols. In this round, the Cash Collect Bar does not reset between rounds, and the Cash Collect™ symbols generated remain "sticky" on the grid for three rounds, increasing the chances of winning more symbols and prizes. There is also an Extra Bet option that can be activated to increase the chances of coin symbols and prizes, as well as a Buy Feature option that allows the player to purchase direct access to free rounds for a specified multiplier of the bet.
