Shields of Rome

Shields of Rome by Playtech is set in Ancient Rome and features a video slot with 5 reels and 4 rows, offering 40 fixed paylines. The game symbols include Roman soldiers, helmets, breastplates, swords, goblets, maps, and standard royal playing card figures, with the golden eagle standing out as the most valuable wild symbol. An interesting element of the base game is the Wild Fire mechanic, where red shields mark specific positions on the reels. Every tenth spin, these positions turn into wilds for that particular spin. Players can trigger the free spins bonus, called the Great War Games, by landing three scatter/bonus symbols on reels 2, 3, and 4. When this feature is activated, players can choose from four different free spins modes: low volatility with 15 spins and 5 wilds, medium volatility with 10 spins and 7 wilds, high volatility with 5 spins and 10 wilds, or a Mystery Shield mode that randomly assigns one of these combinations. There is also a buy bonus feature, allowing players to directly access the Free Spins feature. Shields of Rome offers a rich thematic experience, with military imagery, battle sounds, flaming shields, and visuals that reflect the essence of war.
