Faust

Novomatic's video slot, Faust, features 5 reels and 10 paylines, drawing its theme from Goethe's renowned Faust legend. The game presents a dark, gothic aesthetic with symbols that include portraits of Faust, Gretchen, and Mephisto, as well as various items like pots and scales. Mephisto acts as both a Wild and a Scatter symbol, substituting for other symbols outside of its scatter role. When three or more Mephisto symbols appear on the reels, players activate the free spins feature. Prior to the start of the free spins, a special symbol is selected to expand; this symbol, when it appears during the free spins, will cover the entire reel and pays out regardless of its position. Furthermore, players have the chance to re-trigger the free spins if they land three or more Scatter symbols again during the feature. The maximum payout potential in Faust can reach up to 5,000 times the stake per payline. There are no additional bonus rounds aside from the free spins, and no multiplier feature exists beyond the expanding symbol. The game's graphics and atmosphere contribute to a sense of drama and mystique, while its high volatility suggests that wins may be infrequent but can be significant when bonuses are triggered.
