Dark Vortex

Yggdrasil's Dark Vortex is a video slot that immers players in a dark horror and monster-themed environment filled with cursed relics and interdimensional portals. The game features a layout of 5 reels and 3 rows, utilizing a “Win All Ways” system that initially provides 243 ways to win, which can expand to 3,125 ways when specific features are activated. A unique aspect of the game is the Vortex symbol; landing two or more on adjacent reels triggers the Vortex Reels feature, which increases the height of the reels and grants a set of Vortex Spins. Each additional adjacent Vortex symbol contributes to the expansion by adding another reel and two more Vortex Spins.

During the Vortex Reels, players can encounter high-paying symbols, wilds, and special orb symbols. There are two varieties of orbs: pink orbs enhance the size of stacked wilds on the middle reels (reels 2-4), while blue orbs provide extra free spins when collected. If all five reels transform into Vortex reels before the Vortex Spins conclude, the Free Spins feature activates on a 5×5 grid, offering the full 3,125 ways to win, with wild stacks on the middle reels enhanced by pink orbs and additional spins from blue orbs.

Additionally, players have the option to use a Buy Bonus feature, allowing them to pay a fixed amount equal to 80 times their current stake to access a pick-and-click interface that determines the number of wild stacks and free spins awarded in the Free Spins round. Wild symbols can replace all regular symbols except for the Vortex and Orb symbols and are limited to the three central reels during both Vortex Reels and Free Spins. The game's atmosphere is further enriched by its theme, visuals, and sound design, showcasing intricately detailed creature symbols, spell books, candles, and a foggy backdrop surrounding the reels.
